Lavinia Week - Neil Walker

lavinia n1It's the weekend, gosh where has this last week gone?  Still haven't seen any snow yet , although it has been pretty cold here.  I shall be in the shop today with Jane Gill, demoing some of the new Woodware stamps.  Please come and join us if you can!

Today is our last DT day using Lavinia stamps.  Neil has created a beautiful card for us using Distress Inks and Distress Markers.

Here is how Neil made his card -

1.To begin I took a piece of watercolour card that was just sitting there doing nothing for a while. I had used Distress inks and my Tangled Yarn Mask to  create a background.
2.  I stamped the image and wings with Memento ink and dried.

3.    I used the Ivy to stamp a border around the card in blue archival ink as well as a ground for the fairy to sit on.

4.  I then coloured the image with Faded Jeans Distress Marker.

5.   I used markers to colour the wings and then used a brush filled with water to blend the colour and to give the figure a shadow line.

6.  I added some small die cut butterflies rising up from the outstretched hand.

7.  Lastly, some small flowers around the base and the whole piece added to a large card blank.

Generally I don't add a sentiment to my cards until I am ready to give them as then I can add a sentiment suitable for the occasion, whether it be a birthday, anniversary etc.
